Brief introduction to various functions

1. User-defined Slope and Aspect Range for Coloring Terrain

2. The phalanx has been equipped with a brand-new interface and undergone improvements in related functions

Interface: A completely new layout interface has been introduced, with the addition of parameters: Minimal N-S pitch and Maximal N-S pitch

Follow terrain aspect: Prompt the user to choose whether to automatically rotate the PV array from facing north to facing south

Arrangement following slope angle and aspect: Before arranging, check and prompt the user to choose the corresponding operation in advance

Variable pitch - Optimize pitch adjustment: Make it suitable for flat ground and arrange it more neatly

Horizontal gap: When placing arrays, even if the horizontal gap is less than the pitch, the center solid line should be drawn

3. Terrace layout features comprehensive functions

Add the functions of Fill all and Centerline layout.

4. New Combine Divide function

Optimize menu options and interaction operations to facilitate users in quickly completing electrical connection divide

In normal mode, users can achieve flexible and customizable rapid division through "Create multiple combine areas - by plan" and "Create multiple combine areas - redesign plan". The existing "Continuously dividing" mode can also be used.

5. Brand-new Medium voltage cable connection function

The design function of the new version of the medium voltage power collection line is divided into the following 7 steps:

  • Put Start point (medium voltage switch cabinet) and Iron tower (mixed project of cable and overhead);
  • Draw a common cable route for the entire site, and the route can form a loop;
  • Manually specify which transformers and iron towers belong to which grid connection point;
  • The software will automatically search for the connection path with the shortest total length on the common path for each grid point;
  • Verify the connection relationship, manually modify the connection relationship, or add a Medium voltage connection box;
  • Set the calculation conditions for the cable list, calculate and export the cable list;
  • Export the medium voltage cable route to CAD and automatically draw the medium voltage connection diagram.

6. The Cable list is layered to set the burial depth, ensuring a more accurate calculation of cable quantities

In the past, when calculating the length of cables for strings or inverter outgoing lines, Candela3D used a unified "length margin" to simulate the part of the cable that goes into and out of the ground (such as adding a 2-meter margin for a 1-meter deep direct burial). However, this method had certain issues: some cables that do not need to be buried were also given a margin, causing deviations in cost estimation. In this version, Candela3D introduces a layered setting function for "cable burial depth".

7. Brand-new Find pile length function

8. Exporting to PVsyst automatically simplifies mountains and elevates arrays, speeding up the import of DAE

Users do not need to rebuild the mountains. When exporting the DAE, simply follow the prompts to set up simplified parameters. Additionally, it may be advisable to elevate the entire array to prevent errors when importing into PVsyst.

9. Selection of laying materials for Cable laying: New interface and related functional improvements

The brand-new cable selection interface allows for setting the outer diameter of different cable models, calculating the fill rate, and using different specifications of cable trays side by side.

Add AC/DC big cables laid in cable conduits, and add strings laid vertically and buried.

Increase the limit of the maximum number of cables per pipe for all types of cable laying.

10. Add the function to generate cable bridge piles

When using trays for cable laying in applications such as integrating fishing with solar power generation, it is essential to ensure that the span of the support piles of the trays is not too large. In addition to fully utilizing the existing pile foundations of the racks, it is also necessary to add additional tray piles where the support span exceeds the set value.

Candela3D software can automatically generate cable tray stakes based on the settings. The settings interface is as follows:

11. Adjust arrays and generate site leveling general plan to support setting earthwork balance

Support setting the target Pure volume, and the software will automatically iterate.

12. Add the function of importing and exporting setting parameters to facilitate collaboration and unified settings

During team collaboration or project handover, different members (or departments) may need to handle different stages of the same project. The numerous interfaces in Candela3D software (such as Project settings, Hill-shading analysis, Array layout, User settings, etc.) often contain a large number of user-defined configurations. To ensure the continuity of workflow and consistency of interface settings, and to avoid users having to repeatedly set parameters when taking over a project, Candela3D has added a function for importing/exporting interface parameters.

13. Improvement of automatic chamfering on roads

When designing the roads in the photovoltaic field, the software automatically chamfers the road centerline according to the set turning radius and generates corresponding dual-line roads, which can save a significant amount of work.
